Vegan Picnic 2023

Sunday 10 December | MAB Tonsley Innovation District, Tonsley | 11am-5pm | $2 entry

Last year we held the 2nd Vegan Picnic in the MAB Tonsley Innovation District to stay out of the rain, on Sunday 10 December 2023. Vegan Picnic is a smaller, food filled event for the ever growing vegan and vegan-curious community to celebrate and enjoy delectable local vegan food and drink. This fabulous event ran from 11 am to 5 pm, and is the perfect opportunity to relax and celebrate the very best in vegan food and drink with friends and like-minded people.

Think 'Cruelty Free Christmas', because Peace begins on you Plate!

Picture this: friends, family and a spread of mouth-watering vegan delights that will make your heart skip a beat. Why go vegan, you ask? Well, besides the fact that you'll be saving cute animals one delicious meal at a time, you'll also be doing your part to combat climate change and promote a healthier planet for future generations. It's a win-win-win situation: great food, a fantastic atmosphere, and a chance to make a positive impact on our world.

Peace Begins on Your Plate at the Vegan Picnic, Adelaide's annual centerpiece celebration in the event calendar among Adelaideans, interstate, and international vegans, vegan-curious individuals, and food lovers alike. This one-day festival being held from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, December 10th, 2023, is a compact version of the award winning Vegan Festival Adelaide, often lovingly referred to as 'Vegan Christmas.' And the best part? It's only $2 to attend! All you need to bring is a hearty appetite. And maybe your dog!

With over 20,000 edible plants in the world, you might not find them all on the day, but rest assured, you'll have an abundance of delectable options to choose from. Animals may be off the menu, but that doesn't mean you'll miss out on culinary delights.

Meet us at the "Soy to the World" stage, where we have an electrifying line up of performers to keep you entertained throughout the event. We are thrilled to present legendary guitar player and devoted animal lover, Cal Williams Jr, whose melodic tunes will serenade your senses. Joining us on stage are the immensely talented musicians of The Domain, ensuring that your day is filled with soulful music and unforgettable performances..  But that's not all! In addition to the fantastic entertainment, Vegan Picnic has a series of engaging and insightful short talks in store for you. We've gathered some incredible influencers to share their stories and knowledge from vegan fast food founders (Amanda Walker - Lord of the Fries), to ocean warriors (Haans Siver - Captain Paul Watson Foundation) and animal rights activist (Chris Delforce - Farm Transparency Project) . There will be activities for the kids from craft to chess.

Get ready to satisfy your taste buds, help save the planet, finish off your Christmas shopping and catch up with friends.

So, grab your picnic blankets, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure, and let's veg out together! Whether you're a seasoned vegan or just curious to explore the world of plant-based delights, the Vegan Picnic is the place to be. Download your copy of the map here!

“As a crew member, we make many sacrifices and take many risks to help prevent whaling in Antarctica. The horrors we saw around the coast of Africa with overfishing and human trafficking is a reality of the fishing industry that I saw from my own eyes”
